About The Course

Local Organiser's Welcome Letter

Dear Colleagues,

We look forward to welcoming you to Cambridge for the 32nd IPPA course. We enclose some information which we hope that you will find useful, and we enclose some information on the history of Cambridge in general and Sidney Sussex College in particular.

We have an active social programme planned. In a small medieval town like Cambridge, much of what is to be seen will be done on foot, so we would advise that you bring at least one pair of comfortable walking shoes. Furthermore, in the event that our unpredictable English weather lets us down, we will press on regardless so advise that bring something warm and waterproof just in case! One of the planned activities will involve punting for around 3 hours (in 1.5 hour blocks). If this is something that you would rather avoid, and we understand this may not be for everyone, we will also lead a walking party to the same destination. We would be grateful if you could let us know in advance if you would prefer not to go by punt, for booking purposes.

The evening meal at Sidney Sussex will consist of a meat option and a vegetarian option. There will not be additional vegetarian meals available that have not been booked in advance. If there are specific meats (e.g. pork) that you do not eat, or you require a specific preparation of meat (e.g. Halal) then please let us know and we can ensure that an appropriate meal is available for you. Please also let us know if you have any food allergies. In addition, at the course dinner there will be a fish course, so if any vegetarians would like to have the fish then we can arrange this, provided we know in advance.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch with us, but otherwise we look forward to greeting you all in person on the 4th September.

Kind Regards,

Flora Jessop & Liz Hook
