2015 IPPA advanced Course

On behalf of the IPPA, we are very pleased to welcome you at the XXXVII IPPA Advanced Course in Paediatric Pathology, to be held in Fontainebleau, France, September 12th-18th 2015.

The academic programme will cover a range of topics in foetal, perinatal, paediatric and placental pathology with a team of tutors and some French expert tutors, internationally recognized.

Fontainebleau is a charming and historical city, 70 km (43 miles) south of Paris within a forest where kings hunted and where you will wander. The venue is located in a small village called URY. Fontainebleau is located about 1 hour away from the arrivals at Gare du Nord (Eurostar, Thalys, etc) or Orly Airport (ORY), and 1.30 hours from Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG). Please note that there are three possible arrival places (Gare du Nord train station, Orly Airport and Charles de Gaulle Airport) to be picked up. Shuttles from these three points will be organised to join the venue. We will contact you soon regarding the organisation of the shuttles.

It still should be late summer time in Fontainebleau, generally sunny with a temperature between 18°C and 27°C. But weather can be capricious, and rain is a possibility. Nights are colder (10° -12°C) especially in the middle of the forest where we shall be. In the hotel you will find an outdoor swimming pool heated to 30 degrees, an outdoor tennis court, badminton, volleyball, Bowles/Pétanque, Fitness centre, so bring your swimsuit, your sportswear and sports shoes.

Social activities will balance scientific sessions to meet, network, discover Fontainebleau palace of the kings of France (XII-XIXth centuries), the middle age village of Moret-sur-Loing, the painters’ village of Barbizon and of course walks in the 25 000 hectares wonderful royal forest recognized by UNESCO. For accompanying persons or for vacations before or after the courses, there will be plenty of other possible activities such as canoe/Kayak on the river Loing, rock climbing, horse riding, visits of Vaux-le-Vicomte palace, other castles and of course visits of Paris.

The social dinner will take place in a pleasant restaurant, Le Troubadour, in front of the Fontainebleau palace in Fontainebleau, on Thursday 17th September.
